My project this week...

Finally, getting the brass out of the kitchen. For some reason, the brass pulls on the kitchen cabinets have been on my mind a lot. I went out and got some new ones (see the bag-o-brass...I'm saving them in case brass ever comes back into style again...I really hope not though. Oh, and I can't figure out how to rearrange these pictures, so bare with me). Here's the finished product.

Mieke waiting for Matt to come home. As soon as it starts to get dark out, they're both waiting for him to come home.

Our fireplace with our stockings. Matt's mom made me a stocking! Its so cute and I know it took a lot of time.

I've been feeling like the kitchen (well, I'm starting with the kitchen) needed a little bit of updating, so I went out and got some nice oil-brushed bronze finished

The Bag-o-Brass. Now, I just have to get the light above the kitchen table replaced and do the master bathroom that is oozing with brass. I know, Matt thinks I'm crazy too, but I just don't think brass is as warm and inviting as other metals. Yes, officially...nutty.

Your house looks awesome...espcially with the decorations!!! I really wish we could see you guys more. We had brass on our draws in our Living Room too. YUCK. We had to get knew ones. Surprising how pricey new knobs are!

Love the new handles! It's funny how when you become a homeowner how stuff like that gets on your nerves. We got the crazy idea to replace all our brass doorknobs, then quickly changed our minds after seeing how much they cost!

One thing to keep in mind for the bathrooms--my old boss, an interior architect, told me when we were redoing ours to go for chrome fixtures. Classy and modern, not 90's fabulous. She said brushed nickel was going out. Enough about fixtures!
