Countdown to Vacation

It's the Friday before vacation, and we can not wait to be relaxing in the Caribbean. We're going on a Southern Caribbean cruise with our friends Greg & Jess. Sooo looking forward to it...just need to get through this day!

On the baby front - Baby Girl Guggs is doing well. We had an appt. yesterday for my monthly checkup. Everything is good. Her heartbeat is about 140 right now and she kicked the doppler when the nurse was searching for her heartbeat. It was the first real kick that I felt, and so did the nurse! I've been feeling her move since the end of 16 weeks...started out like bubbles, then "squirmies" (I have no other way to explain it) and then now it feels like she's doing flips and recognizing those lil' kicks. Sooooo coool.

No pics this week, but when we're back from vacation, we'll have plenty to share.

Can't tell from the shot above, but it's the best we got. She was not very cooperative at first, but after some jiggles of the belly and me on each side, she finially showed us the money shot.

It's been a long time...

Trip to UT

I LOVE it out west! Its so gorgeous with all the mountains. There were a few clouds rolling in and got a few great pictures of the sun coming through the clouds.

My project this week...

Finally, getting the brass out of the kitchen. For some reason, the brass pulls on the kitchen cabinets have been on my mind a lot. I went out and got some new ones (see the bag-o-brass...I'm saving them in case brass ever comes back into style again...I really hope not though. Oh, and I can't figure out how to rearrange these pictures, so bare with me). Here's the finished product.

I've been feeling like the kitchen (well, I'm starting with the kitchen) needed a little bit of updating, so I went out and got some nice oil-brushed bronze finished

The Bag-o-Brass. Now, I just have to get the light above the kitchen table replaced and do the master bathroom that is oozing with brass. I know, Matt thinks I'm crazy too, but I just don't think brass is as warm and inviting as other metals. Yes, officially...nutty.
